‘Can’t Even Believe This’: Billie Eilish Reacts As She Becomes Spotify’s Most Streamed Monthly Artist

As a devoted fan, I can barely contain my excitement as Billie Eilish continues to break boundaries and conquer new heights in the music world! With her recent achievement of being the most streamed artist on Spotify, she’s not only surpassing The Weeknd but also joining the elite club alongside Taylor Swift and The Weeknd himself.

Billie Eilish, who recently concluded her performance at the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony, is basking in another triumph. As per a recent announcement from Spotify, this Grammy-winning artist has now become the most listened-to monthly artist on their audio streaming platform. Previously, The Weeknd occupied this position.

In June 2024, Billie Eilish surpassed 100 million monthly listeners on a streaming platform, making her the third-youngest artist to achieve this feat, with only The Weeknd and Taylor Swift ahead of her in this category.

Afterward, to express her overwhelming joy and deep affection for her fans, Eilish posted a message on Instagram. In it, she expressed, “I’ve reached number 1 globally on Spotify, and I honestly can’t wrap my head around this! I love you all so incredibly much – this is the most unbelievable thing ever.”

Recenty, Abel Tesfaye (also known as The Weeknd) posted on X a message from Billie Eilish’s fan account, indicating that she was nearly 1 million listeners away from reaching the number one spot. In response, The Weeknd expressed his support for the singer of Birds of a Feather by writing, “Let’s do it!”

Currently, Eilish boasts eight tracks in Spotify’s elite Billions Club, a prestigious group reserved for songs that have surpassed one billion streams. A few of these hits include “Lovely” featuring Khalid (with over 2.5 billion plays), “Bad Guy”, and “When the Party’s Over” with approximately 1.8 billion streams.

Among the hits from Chihiro’s latest album “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” released in April, are songs like “Birds of a Feather” and “Lunch.” This album made its entrance at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.

More recently, Billie Eilish captivated the crowd during the closing event of the 2024 Paris Olympics with an extraordinary performance. The multi-Grammy winner, aged 22, made quite an impression in her oversized white Ralph Lauren polo, navy baseball cap, baggy shorts, and large boots, as she delivered some of her top hits. One notable performance was a rendition from her latest album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” titled “Birds of a Feather.”
