Cannes 2025: Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s Films Added to Lineup

The Cannes Film Festival is rapidly approaching, and in anticipation of its start next month, several new films have been included in the program. Among these are “Die, My Love,” a film starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson, as well as Kristen Stewart’s directorial debut. Additionally, Lawrence will also be seen in the upcoming movie with Mickey 17’s lead actor, directed by Lynn Ramsey titled “Die, My Love.

In the world of filmmaking, the latest filmmaker to step into the director’s role is Stewart, who will helm the upcoming movie titled “The Chronology of Water.” This production will make its debut in the Un Certain Regards segment at a future event. Simultaneously, Ethan Coen’s film “Honey Don’t” has been selected for screening in the Midnights section.

Additional films gracing the festival lineup are Saeed Roustaee’s Mother and Child, Anna Cazenave Cambet’s Love Me Tender, Simón Mesa Soto’s A Poet, Pedro Pinho’s The Laugh and the Knife (Le Rire et le Couteau), Kōji Fukada’s Marriage on Trial, Hlynur Pálmason’s Afterlove, and Lav Diaz’s Magellan. These titles have also been included in the official selection.

In Ramsey’s latest film, “Die, My Love,” the narrative is based on Ariana Harwicz’s first novel. The protagonist, played by Lawrence, has recently given birth and finds herself in a whirlwind of madness and intense love for her husband, who is portrayed by the former Twilight star. Notably, this film will bring Ramsey back to the Cannes Film Festival after an absence of eight years as it joins their lineup.

In 2017, Ramsey had graced the same event where he showcased his gripping film, “You Were Never Really Here,” featuring the talented Joaquin Phoenix. This movie eventually bagged the award for outstanding screenplay.

Moreover, it has been announced that Tom Cruise will participate on the panel during the premiere of Mission Impossible 7: The Last Stand at the forthcoming film festival.

The Cannes Film Festival is set to open on May 13, with the closing ceremony on May 24.
