As a dedicated follower of Call The Midwife, I can hardly contain my excitement! With the previous seasons now available on Netflix in the US and Season 13 just around the corner, it feels like Christmas has come early for me.
Fantastic news for enthusiasts of Call the Midwife! Previously aired seasons of this series will now be streamable on Netflix in the United States. You can find Seasons 1 to 13 streaming on Netflix, or choose to rent them from platforms like YouTube, Apple TV, and Prime Video instead. For those who prefer to watch the latest episodes, new ones from the current season are available for free on PBS’s website starting from the premiere. They will remain online for a month following the season finale.
Viewers in the UK can expect Season 13 to premiere on September 1st, while viewers in the US will have access to it a day later, on September 2nd (ET). This season, which originally aired from March 17th to May 5th, 2024, comprises all nine episodes, including the much-anticipated Christmas special. Notably, the Christmas special is scheduled to air on PBS on December 25th at 8/7c.
The well-known PBS series is at present shooting its 14th installment. As shared by the show’s creator and head producer, Heidi Thomas, on her Instagram, this season takes us to 1970, kicking off a thrilling new era.
Heidi Thomas’ statement shares her ongoing excitement: “Even after so many years, I still feel a flutter of excitement whenever I see the first photo from the set. For Series 14, we’re stepping into the 1970s, promising a thrilling journey into a new era. We can hardly wait to share another season filled with heartwarming, suspenseful, and emotional tales from Nonnatus House.”
The series, set in East London during the 1950s, revolves around a group of British nurses and midwives. In season 13, we continue to watch as they provide care and support to their community.
The Netflix series has seen great success, with Season 12 having been streamed last year, and earlier seasons having been released in past years. It’s also been confirmed that Seasons 14 and 15 are on their way, and they’ll be set in the 1970s, as per a recent show update.
As your trusted lifestyle advisor, I’m thrilled to share that we’re gearing up for Season 14! This fresh installment is scheduled to air on BBC in January 2025, with the U.S. debut following closely. In this new season, we’ll step back in time to the vibrant ’70s, continuing our tradition of delving into the unique blend of midwifery and family dynamics that characterized London’s East End during different decades.
Currently, the series is being created by Neal Street Productions. At this moment, only Seasons 13 will be available on Netflix in both the United States and the United Kingdom. There are no immediate plans to make it accessible in other countries.
