The unique initial model Bugatti Bolide (chassis number 001), one of only 40 produced, will be auctioned off at the Gooding & Christie’s Pebble Beach Auction during the Monterey Car Week, taking place from August 15 to 16.
First introduced as an extreme track-only concept back in 2020, the Bolide transformed into a tangible reality due to immense public interest. Unrestricted by any road-legal requirements, it boasts Bugatti’s renowned 8L quad-turbocharged W16 engine, fine-tuned to generate an impressive 1,600 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. Weighing only 3,086 pounds when dry, it accelerates from 0–62 mph in a breathtaking 2.2 seconds and produces close to three tonnes of downforce at high speeds.
I’m thrilled to share that I recently became the proud owner of Chassis #001, the very first customer-delivered Bugatti Bolide! Fresh off the production line at Le Mans in 2023, this beauty is adorned in French Racing Blue with sleek Nocturne Black carbon accents and signature X motifs. With just 389 miles on its odometer, it was delivered to teamcjworks in Texas.
As one of the 40 units produced, each priced approximately $4,800,000 USD, this unique piece is expected to fetch an impressive $6,000,000 USD. As the debut production Bolide, it’s not just a car, but a symbol of rarity and collectibility in the modern era of Bugatti. I feel truly fortunate to be its steward!
