Brosnan Responds to Rumors of a 007 Comeback Under Denis Villeneuve

Pierce Brosnan, best known for playing James Bond in the 1990s, hasn’t dismissed the possibility of reprising the iconic role.

In a recent interview, 72-year-old Pierce Brosnan said he would consider reprising his role as James Bond if director Denis Villeneuve approached him about it.

Pierce Brosnan starred as James Bond in four movies, beginning with GoldenEye in 1995 and finishing with Die Another Day in 2002. Even now, over twenty years later, he still fondly remembers playing the role.

He immediately responded to the question about a possible return, saying he’d definitely consider anything Villeneuve was planning. “Why wouldn’t I?” he asked. “It would be fun to watch, and could be really hilarious – think wigs, fake noses, all sorts of things!”

The actor shared that he and his wife, Keely Shaye Brosnan, have been paying attention to the rumors about the next James Bond. He said they’ve been hearing all the speculation and believe there are many strong contenders, promising an exciting selection process.

Rumors about the next Bond movie, currently known as Bond 26, have been making headlines for months.

This movie will completely restart the James Bond series, and it’s the first Bond film Amazon is making after recently taking over production. David Heyman and Amy Pascal will be in charge of producing the film through their companies, Heyman Films and Pascal Pictures.

In June, Denis Villeneuve, the director of films like Dune and Sicario, was confirmed to direct the movie, with Tanya Lapointe producing. Then, in July, Steven Knight, known for creating Peaky Blinders, joined the project as the screenwriter.

Fans are buzzing with excitement about the next James Bond, especially after recent comments from Pierce Brosnan. He’s expressed continued affection for the franchise and hinted he’d be open to reprising his role as 007, even just for one final film. While it’s unclear if director Denis Villeneuve will reach out, Brosnan clearly still enjoys being Bond.
