Focus Features has unveiled the trailer for Pressure, a World War II film about the stressful period immediately before D-Day. Based on David Haig’s 2014 play – originally performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and later in London’s West End – the movie, directed by Anthony Maras and co-written with Haig, details the critical 72 hours leading up to the massive D-Day invasion.
The story focuses on General Dwight D. Eisenhower, played by Brendan Fraser, and Royal Air Force meteorologist James Stagg, portrayed by Andrew Scott. The success of the invasion of France hinges on the choices they make.
Matthew Fraser delivers a compelling performance as Eisenhower, capturing both the general’s strong leadership and the personal struggles he faced while making important decisions. As Focus Features notes, Fraser portrays Eisenhower with a grounded, no-nonsense quality, showing him to be a skilled diplomat and a deeply relatable human being.
The first trailer has been released for ‘PRESSURE,’ a new World War II thriller starring Brendan Fraser, Andrew Scott, and Kerry Condon. The film takes place in the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, the massive and perilous invasion that changed the course of history. ‘PRESSURE’ will be in theaters on May 29th.

The trailer showcases the contrast between the careful planning happening in command centers and the real dangers awaiting soldiers on the beaches of Normandy. It stresses how important accurate weather forecasts were to the success of the mission. The film skillfully mixes tense indoor scenes with sweeping outdoor shots, building both excitement and suspense.
Kerry Condon plays Kay Summersby, who was an assistant to President Eisenhower, and she’s joined by Damian Lewis, Chris Messina, and a talented supporting cast. The film hopes to deliver both powerful performances and a gripping, suspenseful story, similar to the feel of movies like Dunkirk and Das Boot.
Pressure opens in theaters on Friday, May 29.
