During a chat with Cosmopolitan, the duo reminisced about their initial encounter in 2014. They shared that they first met each other, coincidentally, through their mutual friend, Seth Green, at his residence.

During the interview, it emerged that Culkin tried to joke about the cancellation of Green and Song’s sitcom Dads, but these attempts backfired on him. The Home Alone star remembered that the Disney alum appeared “not impressed” by him.

Three years had passed before they met again, this time under the guidance of Green who was producing the Changeland movie. On set, they reportedly grew quite close due to their mutual love for card games, shared curiosity about the name Dakota for a child, and other common interests.

The actress only preferred “neutral” or “gender-undefined” names for herself, yet Culkin had previously decided to adopt that name as a tribute to his deceased sister, who passed away in 2008.
