Actor Brandon Sklenar, known for his role in It Ends With Us, has chosen to stay neutral in the ongoing dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, despite earlier expressing solidarity with Lively. Recently spotted at an airport, he maintained a tactful stance when questioned about the issue, urging everyone to act with kindness and empathy instead.
In December 2024, Blake Lively brought forth a lawsuit against her fellow actor and director, Justin Baldoni, for alleged sexual harassment during the filming of It Ends With Us. She further asserted that he subsequently engaged in character assassination against her, which Mr. Baldoni has refuted.
At first, Sklenar, aged 34, seemed to back Lively by posting a New York Times article about her lawsuit on his Instagram Story with the comment, “For heaven’s sake, read this.” However, the matter grew more complex when Baldoni retaliated by filing a $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, her publicist Leslie Sloane, as well as the New York Times. The New York Times announced its intention to “robustly defend” itself in this case.
By February, Sklenar’s public position had clearly evolved. In a “CBS Mornings” interview, when asked if he was “Team Justin or Team Blake,” he chuckled and answered, “I’m Team ‘It Ends With Us.’ ” Later, at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars Party, he characterized the situation as challenging and underlined the significance of recalling the movie’s message of love and empowerment for women.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Sklenar expressed his hope that viewers will remember the core theme of the movie: love, and its purpose to uplift women and aid those going through difficult times. Notably, he mentioned that this film, focusing on domestic violence, has been instrumental in offering help to many individuals.
As the highly-anticipated trial of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni approaches in March 2026, I, as a lifestyle expert, find myself drawn to Sklenar’s approach to steer clear of the courtroom fray. Instead, he seems determined to concentrate on the core message of “It Ends With Us,” advocating for love and empathy among all parties involved.
