Bradley Cooper directs and stars in his new movie, Is This Thing On?, alongside Will Arnett and Laura Dern. The film is a comedy-drama loosely based on the life of comedian John Bishop, and it explores themes of love, friendship, and navigating life after a long-term relationship.
The movie tells the story of Alex and Tess, a couple amicably separating and navigating life after their decision. It follows them as they adjust to living apart while continuing to co-parent their two sons and maintain their friendships. Throughout the process, Alex discovers a new passion and gains a better understanding of himself and his connections with others.
The film’s cast features Bradley Cooper as Alex’s best friend, Balls, and Andra Day as Balls’s wife, Christine. Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, and Christine Ebersole also star, along with Ciarán Hinds. A special note is that Sean Hayes is joined by his real-life husband, Scott Icenogle, who plays Geoffrey, the husband of Hayes’s character, Stephen.
