However, our findings led us to focus on a specific issue that caught our attention, which revolved around Marvel’s animation future and the possibility of a live-action animated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film in cinemas, much like Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy. Here’s what we discovered:
Speaking of significant achievements, it’s worth noting that Marvel Animation has been excelling in television. While we’re certainly enthusiasts of X-Men ’97, their recent productions like “I Am Groot” and others have also caught our attention. My question is this: Could there be a future milestone for Marvel Animation when one of their works graces the big screen under the Marvel Animation banner?
Brad Winderbaum: We discuss it, and in my opinion, a movie is essentially a piece of property that tells a story within about two hours. It’s almost like making a declaration or a statement, if you will. One thing I’ve realized, returning to your earlier question, is that a film for me represents a brief yet impactful narrative.
You know, you’re… you’re buying a ticket, you’re sitting in a theater, you know, you’re with a crowd, it’s a giant screen that’s dominating you, and it is like… it is… it is something to say to the world. You know, you got two hours to do it. Versus a television show, which is a longer form; it’s like more of a conversation with the audience.
Initially, the production involves a larger team, leading to a call-and-response dynamic that’s more prevalent. In other words, multiple people contribute to its creation. If you’re fortunate enough to produce subsequent seasons, this definitely continues. To give you an example, while working on X-Men ’97 Season 2, we are taking into account the feedback from season one, similar to how we did with What If…?. I believe it’s a remarkable advantage that television offers.
Um, and… um, and… and, you know, that… that… that to me is kind of the… the… that’s going to be the… that’s going to be the… the… the thing that… that tells us whether or not it should be a movie. Like, is this something that, like… this is… this is definitely, this world, this character this moment, this is a… this is a story that is… that is going to be best told in… in two hours like that.
