Brad Pitt is known as a very stylish and influential actor, and has starred in many successful films over the last thirty years. He first became famous in the late 1980s and has since worked with some of the most celebrated directors in the industry, including Ridley Scott, Quentin Tarantino, and David Fincher, carefully choosing roles that have defined his career.
Even a successful actor like Brad Pitt has had movies that critics and audiences didn’t love, such as the comedy War Machine or the controversial drama The Counselor. He recently shared a strange story from the making of his 2022 film, Bullet Train, while talking about the movie.
The actor immediately had a story when asked about the strangest direction he’d ever gotten, though he didn’t want to name the director. He recalled a time when the director asked him to portray a very disturbing scenario: ‘Imagine a serial killer choking someone until they pass out, then bringing them back just to do it again. That’s what I want you to do!’ Pitt explained.
The director’s unusual and unsettling direction immediately made Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry burst out laughing. Henry playfully suggested the director must be like Ted Bundy, and Taylor-Johnson chimed in, comparing the filmmaker to Jeffrey Dahmer because of the morbid advice he’d given.
Brad Pitt is enjoying a career resurgence, with both popular and critically acclaimed projects. His latest film, the racing drama F1, directed by Joseph Kosinski, has become his most financially successful movie to date and recently received an unexpected nomination for Best Picture at the 2026 Academy Awards.
The actor recently finished filming The Adventures of Cliff Booth, a spin-off of the popular film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. What makes this project unique is that it’s written by Quentin Tarantino but directed by David Fincher, bringing Pitt and the director of Fight Club together again.
Brad Pitt will also appear in the upcoming survival adventure film, Heart of the Beast, directed by David Ayer. Filming wrapped up in New Zealand last year. The movie centers on a former Special Forces soldier and his retired military dog as they fight to survive in the Alaskan wilderness. J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also star.
There’s a lot of excitement about a possible new Ocean’s movie, potentially titled Ocean’s 14, with rumors that Brad Pitt and George Clooney could team up again for a heist, directed by David Leitch. Pitt remains a highly sought-after and consistently successful actor, whether he’s performing fast-paced action or more thoughtful roles.
