Boys from Brazil Netflix Adaptation Ropes in Succession Star Jeremy Strong with The Crown’s Peter Morgan, Here’s All We Know

According to Variety’s report, it appears that Jeremy Strong is set to feature in a TV series based on “The Boys From Brazil.” This series is planned to be developed by Netflix, adapting the novel penned by Ira Levin.

Noteworthy is that the project originates from Peter Morgan, renowned for crafting a critically-adored series on the same streaming platform as The Crown. According to reports, Morgan will pen the adaptation and jointly produce with Suzanne Mackie of Orchid Pictures.

As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but share the intriguing rumors swirling around! Although Netflix’s representatives have chosen to remain tight-lipped, Peter Morgan himself hinted at his involvement in something exciting – and it seems he let slip that he was working on an adaptation of The Boys From Brazil! According to recent reports, this tantalizing tidbit was revealed during a 2024 interview with Variety.

For those unfamiliar, the book initially came out for public consumption in 1976, followed by its adaptation as a film in 1978 with Gregory Peck and Laurence Olivier in leading roles.

Discussing Jeremy Strong’s part in the production, he is set to take the helm, portraying the character Yakov Liebermann, a Nazi hunter. Previously, this role was embodied by the esteemed actor, Laurence Olivier, in an earlier film adaptation.

In my uncontainable excitement, I find myself drawn into the gripping narrative that unravels the enigmatic character of Yakov Liebermann. This man, who I’ve come to admire, embarks on a thrilling quest following a tantalizing tip: the notorious Dr. Josef Mengele, known as the “Angel of Death,” is rumored to be alive and living under a new identity in Brazil. With the hope that justice might finally prevail, Yakov sets foot on South American soil, determined to unmask this elusive figure and bring him to light.

He also soon discovers a sinister conspiracy that is at work.

Notably, Jeremy Strong has landed his first series-regular part since his tenure on HBO’s Succession, where he portrayed Kendall Roy across four seasons.

Lately, he has been spotted portraying the role of Roy Cohn in the film “The Apprentice,” starring Sebastian Stan.
