Bon Jovi receives special role for New England Patriots ahead of Super Bowl 60

Over the past 60 years, the Super Bowl has become much more than just a championship football game—it’s now a massive media spectacle. The NFL actively seeks ways to appeal to people who don’t typically follow sports, going far beyond the halftime show and musical performances.

I’m really excited for the start of the games this year! They’ve been having celebrities announce the teams as they run onto the field, and it’s happening again this year. I just heard that Jon Bon Jovi, who’s from New Jersey, will be the one introducing the New England Patriots! What a cool way to kick things off.

It’s not surprising to see Bon Jovi supporting the Patriots. He’s been a dedicated fan for years. Even though he’s not from around here, it makes sense to root for the Patriots, who have won the Super Bowl six times, instead of the local New York teams. A lot of people would feel the same way.

Actor Chris Pratt, who isn’t a musician, will introduce the Seattle Seahawks. His connection to the team makes sense – though he was born in Minnesota, he grew up and went to high school in Lake Stevens, Washington, which is close to Seattle.

Football fans will likely enjoy having Jon Bon Jovi and Chris Pratt at the Super Bowl – both are known for being enthusiastic and lively supporters. They won’t have trouble making themselves heard in the energetic atmosphere of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and it promises to be a lot of fun.

Charlie Puth will sing the national anthem, Coco Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and Brandi Carlile will sing “America the Beautiful” at the game. Before the game starts, Bay Area band Green Day will perform a concert.

But the highlight of the event will likely be the halftime show featuring Bad Bunny. He’s not just incredibly popular – as the most-streamed artist in 2025 – he truly deserves all the attention, and recently won Album of the Year at the 2026 Grammys.

Honestly, I’m totally skipping whatever halftime show that conservative group is trying to push. I don’t want to give their negativity any attention. I’m way more excited to see Bad Bunny perform live – he’s gonna be amazing! And it’ll be cool to see Jon Bon Jovi getting the Patriots pumped up, too.
