BMW Motorrad has unveiled the “TITAN” version of their R 1300 R motorcycle, an impressive, fiercely aggressive sprint racer built by a dedicated team from its design and engineering departments. Under the guidance of project manager Philipp Ludwig, this unique creation transforms the conventional BMW R 1300 R into a racing-oriented machine with enhanced dimensions and race-ready components.
As a diehard enthusiast, I’d put it this way: The “TITAN” is my ride, centered around a powerful 1300cc boxer engine. It boasts a custom monocoque body and strategic use of forged carbon components, with a captivating metallic blue graphic design that hints at movement, even when stationary. Its front-heavy, sharp stance and skyward-angled tail suggest explosive launches and aerodynamic prowess. A hidden nitrous system, nestled beneath the rear seat between dual Akrapovič titanium exhausts, serves as a secret weapon, delivering an instant power boost for adrenaline-pumping short-distance races.
Additionally, they brought on Wilbers for a specially tailored suspension system and Akrapovič for a unique twin-outlet exhaust setup. A Magura HC3 brake lever guarantees smooth braking, while the footrests are strategically placed to promote an optimal racing stance. Although the BMW R 1300 R “TITAN” might not make it to mass production, it serves as a stunning demonstration of the brand’s engineering prowess and dedication to exceptional design.
