So, Bloom Energy (BE 7.30%) is having a little…moment. After a dip today that, frankly, wasn’t even worth mentioning – a mere 7.3% – it’s now zooming upwards. They released their fourth-quarter 2025 numbers, and investors, bless their hearts, are acting like they’ve discovered the secret to eternal youth. Honestly, the gullibility of some people!
As of 5:17 p.m., the stock’s up 12.7% from its closing price of $136.60. Twelve point seven percent! It’s like they’ve invented a self-folding laundry machine. Which, let’s be honest, would be a far more useful invention.
Two Years of Not Losing Money! A Miracle!
They somehow managed to bring in $777.7 million in revenue, beating expectations. Analysts thought they’d get $645.3 million? Please. That’s amateur hour. A 35.9% year-over-year increase? It’s…fine. Perfectly adequate. Like a moderately successful Yiddish theater production. And they posted adjusted EPS of $0.45, when everyone was expecting $0.30. A whole 15 cents! They’re practically printing money…or, you know, generating positive earnings. Details, details.
And get this: $418.1 million in operating cash flow in Q4. They’re not burning through cash like a Roman candle, folks! That brought their total cash flow from operating activities to $113.9 million, a 23.8% jump. It’s enough to make a tightwad accountant weep with joy.
Now, they’re predicting 2026 revenue of $3.1 to $3.3 billion, with adjusted EPS of $1.33 to $1.48. Last year they did $2.02 billion and $0.76 EPS. So, they’re doubling down on…well, something. Look, I’m a cynic, but even I have to admit that’s a pretty good jump. Though, let’s not get carried away. It’s not like they’ve discovered cold fusion.
Bloom Energy: The Least Worst Fuel Cell Option?
Okay, there are other fuel cell companies out there. A whole bunch, actually. But most of them are…let’s just say, creatively accounting for their losses. Bloom Energy, at least, is consistently profitable and generating cash. That’s a low bar, I admit, but in this industry, it’s practically the high jump. So, if you must invest in fuel cells – and I’m not recommending that, mind you – Bloom Energy is, shall we say, the least objectionable choice. Like choosing between a root canal and a sprained ankle. You’re still in pain, but at least it’s manageable.
