Fall is here, which means pumpkin spice flavors are *everywhere*. But more importantly, it’s spooky season – and most of us love watching scary movies! Here at Screambox, we actually *get paid* to do that around Halloween – it’s a pretty great perk. Now, Screambox is offering you the chance to do the same! They’re hiring an intern to watch five horror movies and will pay $666 for it.
Screambox, a streaming service, is offering a unique internship: a ‘Thrilltern.’ The chosen applicant will get paid $666 to watch five of the platform’s scariest movies by October 24th. They’ll also receive a $50 Uber Eats gift card and a free year-long subscription to Screambox. The service will cover the subscription cost during the challenge, which is estimated to take around 10 hours to complete. (Last year’s similar job involved a 24-hour horror movie marathon, making this a much more manageable commitment.)
You can apply for the Thrilltern internship until 11:59 PM Mountain Time on October 7, 2025. Screambox’s HR team (aka the “Haunted Recruiters”) will announce the chosen intern on October 9th. The internship is open to anyone 18 or older, and you can apply here. Even if you aren’t selected as the intern, everyone who applies will receive a one-month Screambox subscription for just $0.99.

Screambox hints at another fun, holiday-themed job opportunity coming soon. Given that the next major holiday after Halloween is Christmas, it might be best to save those Christmas horror movies for later. They’re planning to hire someone to watch horror films all December, so you might find yourself needing to watch a lot of them!
We’re excited for you to apply for our Halloween job! It’s a fantastic opportunity to get paid to watch scary movies – what could be better?
