The dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues to intensify as time goes on. Recently, attorneys representing Lively are seeking financial records from Baldoni in preparation for an upcoming court hearing scheduled for 2026. In a step prior to this hearing, lawyers for the actress have sent a request asking Baldoni’s legal team to comply with their demand for access to these records.
A report emerged that an actress is seeking information about a director-actor’s financial details, following legal action taken by the lawyer of the Jane the Virgin actor who summoned Taylor Swift to testify in court on Friday.
Regarding the documents concerning the movie, Taylor Swift’s representative clarified that she hadn’t visited the film set, had no role in casting or creative decisions, didn’t compose the music, never reviewed any edits or provided comments on it. In fact, she didn’t watch It Ends With Us until weeks after its public premiere, as she was busy touring globally during 2023 and 2024, leading the most significant tour in history.
They went on to explain that Taylor Swift’s link to the movie was solely through allowing one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet,’ to be used. Since 19 other artists also licensed songs for the film, this legal document being served is more about exploiting Taylor Swift’s name to generate public interest and sensational headlines, rather than delving into the actual facts of the case.
1) Previously, before the subpoena was issued, attorney Mike Gottlieb for the star of “The Age of Adeline” stated that there was no need for Taylor Swift to provide documents or testify in court as it had no bearing on the case. Additionally, Baldoni’s legal team contacted Marvel regarding a possible depiction of their client being mocked through the Deadpool character, Nicepool.
Since last December, Lively and Baldoni have been involved in a series of legal disputes. The actress initiated a lawsuit against the director of the It Ends With Us film over allegations of sexual harassment. In response, the actor filed a counterclaim, accusing her of defamation and extortion.
