This week, the legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni takes another turn. Lively has brought on board a former CIA official, Nick Shapiro, as part of her legal team. She’s also made changes to her initial complaint by adding new accusations, and has sent out subpoenas to various telecommunication companies and social media platforms for additional information.
The disagreement initially sparked by opposing court cases has expanded to include accusations of improper behavior on the set of It Ends With Us, demands for a tighter restraining order, and attempts to expose supposed attempts to damage Lively’s reputation.
As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to share the news that Nick Shapiro, former CIA Deputy Chief of Staff (2013-2015), has officially joined Blake Lively’s legal squad, as confirmed by her legal representatives to Forbes.
Shapiro is going to offer counsel on the legal communication aspects concerning Lively’s lawsuit against Baldoni, which is being handled in a federal court in New York. This guidance becomes relevant as Lively aims to control the storyline in the public domain regarding this particular case.
In a similar vein, Lively and her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, sent a petition for a broader protective order. Their lawyers contended that further investigation in this case might subject them to potential harassment and danger. The letter indicated that their privacy had been invaded ever since the legal dispute started.
This week, Lively’s legal representatives submitted a revised lawsuit against Baldoni, including fresh allegations. The document asserts that at least two female cast members of ‘It Ends With Us’ felt uneasy due to Baldoni’s conduct. It is alleged that both women expressed their worries to Lively, who recorded them and forwarded the matter to superiors for further action.
According to the court case, it’s claimed that Baldoni was informed about a minimum of one grievance at the moment and replied in written form, assuring improvements would be implemented.
Yet, Lively’s legal team argues that instead of defending himself against potential accusations, he initiated a public relations campaign aimed at undermining any future claims made against him. The amended lawsuit they have submitted is 48 pages longer than the initial one Lively filed on New Year’s Eve.
The movie titled “It Ends With Us,” released in theaters back in August, was available for streaming on Netflix starting December 2024. Directed by Baldoni and featuring Lively, this film is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel that addresses the sensitive topic of domestic violence. However, it’s important to note that the strife between its leading actors has drawn more attention than the movie’s success.
