Blake Lively Starrer Another Simple Favor Dropped Sharon Stone ‘Unexpectedly’ From the Sequel; Find Out Why

Prior to the premiere of the thriller-comedy “Another Simple Favor,” starring Blake Lively and Ana Kendrick, Sharon Stone stunned everyone with an unexpected disclosure.

On Thursday, March 13th, the actress from Basic Instinct posted a comment on Instagram regarding the movie. She wrote, “I thoroughly enjoyed being chosen for the part and then being let go without any explanation whatsoever. I truly loved it.

Despite Stone’s unexpected termination coming as a surprise, it’s not uncommon in the entertainment industry. A similar situation unfolded for Adrian Brody, who was initially cast as the main character in Terrence Malick’s war epic The Thin Red Line. However, his scenes were ultimately cut from the film, even after he had won an Oscar.

At the movie’s first showing, the actor discovered his part was limited to just five minutes in the three-hour film. Previously, Brody admitted to GQ that he wasn’t aware the role had been significantly diminished. Looking back now, he’s grateful for avoiding early fame and accolades, despite the initial embarrassment it caused him.

In simple terms, “Another Simple Favor” is the follow-up film to the 2018 movie titled “A Simple Favor.” The main actors from the original movie – Blake Lively, Anna Kendrick, and Henry Golding – returned for this sequel, and Michele Morrone, who gained fame in the movie “365 Days,” joined the cast as a new character.

Initially, the film focused on Stephanie’s (Kendrick) quest to discover what happened to her mysterious neighbor Emily (Lively), a wealthy and secretive upper-class individual. It turned out later that Emily had orchestrated her own disappearance as a crucial aspect of a complex fraud involving financial issues.

In the upcoming sequel, we delve deeper into the intricate relationship shared by the main female characters. According to the film’s summary, Another Simple Favor takes Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson on a luxurious journey to the picturesque island of Capri, Italy, where Emily is set to marry a wealthy Italian businessman.

In light of Amandla Lively’s intensifying court dispute with her co-star Justin Baldoni on “It Ends With Us,” she took to social media during the promotional tour for “Another Simple Favor” and referred to it as a refreshing respite from the turmoil.

I’m deeply grateful to my dear friends and family for turning this weekend into an unforgettable experience. Now, it’s time for me to slip back into my comfy sweatsuits.

Another Simple Favor will be released in theaters on May 1, 2025.
