Blake Lively Reveals Why She Used Taylor Swift’s Track My Tears Ricochet In Upcoming Film It Ends With Us: ‘I’m Just So Proud…’

As a dedicated follower of Blake Lively’s career, I can confidently say that her passion and dedication to her craft never cease to amaze me. The way she approaches each role with such depth and commitment is truly inspiring. In It Ends With Us, she takes on the challenging role of Lily Bloom, a character that resonates deeply with audiences, as evidenced by the success of Colleen Hoover’s novel.

In simple terms, Blake Lively is generating buzz for her upcoming romantic drama titled “It Ends With Us.” She portrays the main character Lily Bloom opposite Justin Baldoni, who plays her love interest Ryle Kincaid. This movie is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 best-selling novel and features a track from Lively’s longtime friend and singer Taylor Swift’s 2020 album “Folklore” – specifically the song “My Tears Ricochet.” In the project, Lively shares why she chose this particular song.

Actress from Gossip Girl, lately, graced the premiere of her new movie at AMC Lincoln Square, NYC, accompanied by her spouse, Ryan Reynolds, and fellow cast members.

Walking the glamorous red carpet, I had an engaging conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, where I shared my exciting collaboration with the exceptionally talented Taylor Swift. You see, we chose her song “My Tears Ricochet” for our film, and let me tell you, every one of her songs is truly exceptional. Frankly, we could have picked any track to grace our production; it could have been a casual voice memo, but honestly, it would have been the most remarkable song ever featured in a movie.

The actress also pointed out that performing in the film was less strenuous compared to the off-camera tasks she undertook to bring it to life. She also shared, “I have a soft spot for difficulties, and I’m nothing but thrilled about every part of it. We experienced a complete range of human emotions during production, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

Previously, the actress who played Green Lantern shared with People magazine that it was a great privilege for her to play this character. She expressed that Lily struck a chord with many people, as the book’s popularity demonstrated. Furthermore, she confessed her affection for her character, Lily, and hoped that the audience, whether they were already invested in Lily or meeting her for the first time through the movie, would share similar feelings.

In Justin Baldoni’s movie, Blake Lively portrays Lily Bloom, a woman who transcends her painful past to pursue a fresh path in Boston, fulfilling her dream of opening a florist shop. During her voyage, she encounters neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (played by Baldoni), and their bond deepens. However, as their love intensifies, Lily recognizes traits in Ryle that echo her parents’ relationship dynamics. Matters become even more complex when her old flame, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), re-enters her life, causing disruption in her relationship with Ryle.

Meanwhile, It Ends With Us will be released in theaters on August 9, 2024.
