Blake Lively Faces Dead End in Justin Baldoni Feud: Judge Rules Out Emotional Distress Claims, Find Out Details

The situation between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has been developing over several months, with signs pointing towards the filmmaker’s favor. Recent updates indicate that the presiding judge in their legal dispute has dismissed Blake Lively’s claims of emotional distress.

The ruling was shared by Judge Lewis Liman after back-and-forth filings by both parties.

As per earlier released statements, it appears that Lively’s legal team retaliated against Baldoni’s legal team, who alleged that the mother of four was attempting to dismiss her lawsuit in order to conceal her medical documents.

According to the actress’s representatives, they explicitly mentioned in their court filing that Ms. Lively willingly chose to drop her distress claims on May 30th for the sake of a smoother legal process. This decision was made with good intentions as she expects to recover other damages in the usual course of litigation.

Judge Lewis Liman’s ruling

Regarding the recent decision in the Lively vs. Baldoni case, the judge stated that the actress has reached a point where she cannot change her stance on revealing her medical documents.

In the motion filed by the judge this morning, Liman expressed that Lively’s request to dismiss Ms. Lively’s tenth and eleventh claims of action “on the grounds that the parties have agreed to drop these specific claims… allowing the court to use its inherent power and Rule 15 discretion to dismiss them without holding it against her for future attempts” has been denied, but with the option for Lively to revisit this request in the future.

He also noted that if Lively and Baldoni don’t come to terms about dismissing the case with or without the option to refile (filing with prejudice or dismissal without prejudice), then her team must opt for one of these options. Regardless of their decision, she will no longer be allowed to bring forth any proof related to her emotional distress in the future.

The dispute involving the actors from It Ends With Us has persisted since December, a period that followed the film’s release several months ago.
