Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Face Off in a Box Office Showdown: “Don’t go see ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ this weekend — f*ck that movie”

As a die-hard movie buff with over three decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the current box office battle between Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us is nothing short of exhilarating! On one side, we have the unstoppable duo of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who continue to shatter records with their on-screen chemistry. On the other hand, we have Blake Lively, my beloved Gossip Girl and wife of our Deadpool, going toe-to-toe in her own major release.

Approximately two weeks past its release, the movie “Deadpool & Wolverine” has been shattering box office records. It has already grossed over $900 million worldwide, standing at $903.3 million as of now. Its international earnings amount to $472.3 million, while domestic earnings total $431 million. Analysts predict that it will cross the $1 billion threshold this weekend.

The film has climbed up to be the 8th highest-earning MCU movie domestically, surpassing Captain Marvel, and it now ranks as the third highest-grossing R-rated film internationally, beating Deadpool 2. Moreover, it has surpassed the combined earnings of both Deadpool movies in all markets.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming release of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” where my beloved Blake Lively takes on the role of Lady Deadpool. However, it seems her husband’s movie is giving her own major release this weekend, “It Ends with Us,” a run for its money! In “It Ends with Us,” based on the 2016 novel, she plays Lily Bloom, with Justin Baldoni as Ryle Kincaid and Brandon Sklenar as Atlas Corrigan.

With a blend of varied responses from critics and grossing $7 million during previews, Emily Lively expresses optimism that her movie might not just match up with but potentially outshine the likes of Deadpool and Wolverine. There seems to be a playful rivalry brewing at the box office between the two, a subject Lively herself has spoken about recently.

During an interview on Capital FM, Lively injected some humor when discussing It Ends with Us, making a lighthearted quip about the movie.

As a film enthusiast who has watched countless movies over the years and spent countless hours dissecting their plots, characters, and cinematography, I must say that “Deadpool & Wolverine” is not worth your time this weekend. While I understand that the comic book adaptations of these iconic characters have a dedicated fanbase, my personal experience has taught me that the films often fall short of delivering a cohesive and engaging storyline.

Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are showcasing their humorous side in a promotional video for the book “It Ends With Us“. In this clip, Hugh Jackman adopts a playful demeanor as he teases Brandon Sklenar with some light-hearted threats. You can catch the entertaining skit right here.
