Tension between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni traces back to several months during the production of ‘It Ends With Us.’ Following the completion of filming, Lively made allegations against Baldoni, claiming instances of on-set harassment, body shaming, inappropriate romantic scenes, and post-release damage to her public image.
For a brief period, things seemed peaceful, but later, Lively initiated a legal dispute which escalated into one of the most significant celebrity scandals of the year, culminating in a Federal Lawsuit. More recently, Baldoni has filed his own complaint and lawsuit against The Times, with plans to potentially sue Lively as well.
Based on the latest figures I’ve come across, my understanding is that the social media presence of Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni has experienced a dip, likely as a result of their public spat.
A recent study by Sprout Social, which monitors social media activity, reveals a surge in posts about the actors following the allegations, many of them unfavorable. Lively’s extensive complaint, submitted in December, has sparked discussions among PR specialists, who believe it could be challenging for Baldoni to restore his tarnished image.
Following Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, there was a significant increase in criticism towards both celebrities. Lively saw a jump of 29% in unfavorable opinions, reaching 61%, whereas Baldoni’s previously positive image transformed into one that is now 63% negative.
On December 31st, when they each filed lawsuits, the criticism against Lively and Baldoni escalated significantly. The disapproval towards Lively rose to 52%, while it increased for Baldoni as well, reaching 52%. However, positive opinions for both actors remained minimal, with only 6% for Lively and 7% for Baldoni.
In the heat of their disagreement, both actors allegedly blamed each other for employing public relations teams to disseminate unfavorable tales. Lively specifically accused Baldoni’s team of utilizing a strategy known as “astroturfing,” where artificial online comments are crafted to appear genuine. The data indicates that the conflict escalated significantly following their decision to air their legal disputes in the media.
