As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of waiting for game releases that never seemed to arrive, I can relate all too well to the ongoing saga of Marvel Studios and their projects like Blade and Armor Wars. The rollercoaster ride of anticipation, disappointment, and then hope again is as exhilarating (and exhausting) as any high-stakes quest in a fantasy RPG.
Marvel Studios boasts a substantial pipeline of upcoming projects, some of which have been officially announced, while others circulate as whispers in the entertainment world. A number of these concepts are fresh and innovative, whereas others have been brewing for quite some time, with their roots tracing back even prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike that had a significant impact on the industry.
Though enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the X-Men reboot, future Avengers films, and Daredevil: Born Again, it’s not hard to overlook the fact that certain productions have been under development for years without a definitive release date or recent news.
Currently, two productions causing quite a stir are: one is the revamped version of Blade featuring Mahershala Ali, and the other is Armor Wars, a project in the works for over ten years that has seen its format transitioning between film and television.
Disney has postponed the release of “Blade” once more, yet Kevin Feige has assured fans at Brazil’s D23 that the production is ongoing, featuring Mahershala Ali in the lead role. In contrast, updates on “Armor Wars” are less certain, with Don Cheadle expressing uncertainty about the project’s current status.
The most recent, unverified information stems from Alex Perez at Cosmic Circus, who hinted during his Discord AMA that ‘Blade’ is currently being given more focus than ‘Armor Wars’. Efforts are underway to secure a director and revamp the storyline for a contemporary setting, with Lilith remaining as the principal antagonist. On the other hand, ‘Armor Wars’ has yet to make significant strides, although discussions have been held regarding an adaptation of the 2015 comic series.
Alex Perez indicates that “Blade” currently holds greater focus for production over “Armor Wars,” as they are in the process of selecting a director for the project. Progress on this has been smoother compared to before, with the story now set in contemporary times, but Lilith remains the primary antagonist and she is not a one-time villain.
As for the Armor Wars project, there’s been no new developments since my last update. There have been discussions about transforming the 2015 comic series into a new adaptation, but progress has been slow so far.

As of now, nothing has changed, and both movies seem to be a long way from release.
