Black Myth Wukong’s Big Update Brings New Fights, Festive Gear, and More

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for Asian mythology-themed games, I can’t help but feel like Christmas came early with the latest update for Black Myth: Wukong. Having already conquered the game once, I was itching for more challenges and fresh content. The Keeper’s Shrine challenges, particularly ‘Return of Rivals’, promise to satiate my hunger for epic battles against familiar foes.

Wukong has received a significant upgrade, adding new obstacles and elements to make gameplay more enjoyable for players.

Once you’ve finished playing the game once, you’ll gain entry to two new challenges at Keeper’s Shrine: ‘Return of Rivals’ and ‘Gauntlet of Legends’. In ‘Return of Rivals’, you can take on one-on-one fights against old adversaries, with three levels of difficulty to choose from. ‘Gauntlet of Legends’ ramps up the challenge as you confront a sequence of returning enemies, some sporting new techniques, head-to-head. The level of difficulty in this gauntlet can be adjusted using customizable curses, and overcoming these challenges grants you access to valuable, hard-to-find loot. However, if you haven’t defeated certain characters during the main game, their corresponding challenges will remain unavailable.

Furthermore, the update includes Journeyer’s Maps, which act as navigation tools and landmarks. You can unlock these by encountering the Keeper on Black Wind Mountain, and you can buy additional ones for each territory you explore at shrines. In their words, ‘Let the map guide the traveler’s voyage.’

In honor of the approaching Chinese New Year, we’ve introduced four unique armor sets that you can collect! You can obtain these items as part of ‘Trailblazer’s Gift’ from any Keeper’s Shrine, giving your character a fresh new look for all your exciting journeys ahead.

Apart from new features, this update, labeled 1.0.12.16581, tackles numerous bug fixes and advancements to boost performance and solve localization problems. Additionally, The Black Myth: Wukong Soundtrack Selection is now available in the music library, providing a more immersive audio experience.
