Black Myth Wukong: Man in Stone and Yellow Robe Squire Secret Quest Guide

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that Black Myth Wukong has truly outdone itself with its intricate and challenging optional quests. The Man in Stone quest, hidden away in Chapter Two, was a delightful find that tested my skills to the limit.

In Black Myth Wukong, there’s a abundance of challenging optional bosses. These are the toughest encounters and offer some top-tier armor sets as rewards. One of the earlier optional battles you might come across is the Stone Man quest in chapter two. It’s entirely up to you whether or not to take it on, but be warned that it’s deceptively hidden and requires a keen eye to spot. I discovered it by chance, but managed to defeat it. Here’s a guide on how to tackle it, as well as the rewards you’ll receive upon success. Interestingly enough, completing this optional boss is essential for taking down another one later on.

Man in Stone Quest Guide and Rewards

To proceed, make your way to chapter two and navigate towards the area known as the Squall Hideout Shrine, followed by the ominous Fright Cliff section. From the shrine, head right initially but venture through the seemingly impassable canyon – don’t worry, it is traversable. At the end of the canyon, you’ll encounter the Man in Stone; talk to him for a task involving a unique stone guarded by the Mother of Stone boss. To find this boss, exit the shrine and venture left into the cave system.

After losing, return the stone to the Stone Man. He may attempt to deceive you by attacking, but he can be easily overpowered. Once you’ve bested him, he will grant you access to a fresh marketplace. One of the goods in this market is a Sobering Stone, which is crucial for your upcoming mission.

Yellow Robe Squire Quest and secret Kingdom of Sahali Guide

1. The next mission involves finding the Yellow-Robe Squire, who is located in the same vicinity. To reach him, make your way to Fright Cliff – Rock Rest Flat shrine. After traversing the open area to your left, you’ll spot an isolated foe wandering about in the distance. Behind this enemy is a discreetly hidden fence that needs to be broken and passed through. The squire is an NPC you can converse with. He’s rather tipsy at the moment and searching for a Sobering Stone to sober up. If you happen to have one, give it to him, and he’ll relocate to the Crouching Tiger Shrine (this is story-related). For now, all he desires is a jade lotus, which you should have gathered through foraging by this point. The squire will then return to his original location and challenge you. He’s quite straightforward in combat, and defeating him will grant you a map to the hidden Kingdom of Sahali region. If the squire does not engage in battle and instead asks for a gold piece, you’ll need to vanquish the first prince rat boss. This adversary resides in the Sand gate village – valley of despair. Enter the cave and head left; he can be found immediately upon entering. Upon defeating him, you’ll receive the gold piece as a reward.

This is an incredible map with three separate secret bosses all with their own rewards. The first gets you a Tiger Tally that increases your attack power as you land light attack hits. The second is the best help in the Wind Tamer Vessel. This provides immunity to wind attacks (which is helpful as it’s the boss in this area) and even stuns bosses when you deploy it. It’s similar to the fire vessel you found in the first area. The cool down is incredibly fast on these, which is good and bad as the immunity also goes away in the same time.
