BioWare’s Next Mass Effect is a Distant Dream Says BioWare Vet

After completing work on “Dragon Age: The Veilguard”, BioWare has shifted focus towards the next edition of Mass Effect. At present, it appears that this upcoming game is only at an early stage of development.

In a recent YouTube video update, veteran BioWare member Mark Darrah provided some details about the current state of their project. He explained that at this point, the Mass Effect team isn’t quite ready for a major growth spurt. Darrah stated that the game wasn’t developed alongside The Veilguard, so they first need to clarify their objectives before bringing additional team members into the fold.

In simpler terms, the Mass Effect game hasn’t been fully developed yet. The team is currently designing the game’s framework and strategies for production. They won’t be adding more members to the team from other EA projects until these fundamental aspects are set up first.

Back in November of 2020, I was thrilled to hear about the upcoming new “Mass Effect” game. Fast forward to April 2022, and BioWare confirmed they were already working on it, but developing something like “The Veilguard” must have taken up a lot of their time, as it seems that the progress on “Mass Effect” might have been slightly delayed because of it.

Due to the stage of development, major changes or releases for the upcoming Mass Effect are not expected imminently. The creation process is just getting started, so it’s going to take some time before the game becomes available to the public.

For now, we can only wait and hope for more information in the future.
