Bijou Phillips, 45, Hospitalized, Desperately Searching for Kidney Donor to Save Her Life

Actress Bijou Phillips, 45, is currently hospitalized in Los Angeles and needs another kidney transplant. She recently posted a message online asking for a living donor to come forward.

After receiving a kidney transplant in 2017, Phillips is now back on dialysis at UCLA as she looks for another donor. She’s been dealing with complications, including a virus called BK virus, which caused her body to reject the first transplanted kidney.

Phillips shared online that a kidney transplant from a friend in 2017 gave her eight more years with her daughter, though she’s experienced ongoing health issues since then. She explained that she was born with kidney problems and had to receive dialysis for the first three months of her life in the NICU.

She pleaded for help finding a living donor, hoping to spend more time with her loved ones – her daughter, family, and friends.

In addition to her health issues, Bijou Phillips has been going through a difficult personal time. She filed for divorce from Danny Masterson in September 2023, shortly after he received a sentence of 30 years to life in prison for two counts of rape, as reported by Fox News Digital.

The actress is still receiving medical care from Dr. Anjay Rastogi at UCLA. Her recent message highlights her strength and also reminds everyone how important it is to have enough kidney donors so people like her can stay healthy and with their families.
