There’s been an exciting development in the world of ‘Pokémon Go’: they’ve added a hint about an upcoming event. The game now references ‘Pokémon Presents 2025 x GO Tour: Unova Timed Research’. This could indicate that a ‘Pokémon Presents’ occasion might be on the horizon.
Since 2018, annual ‘Pokémon Presents’ events have been held in February to honor Pokémon Day. This special day commemorates the release of the original Pokéemon games in Japan on February 27, 1996. Indications suggest that this tradition will persist in 2025 within the ‘Pokémon Go’ universe as well.
The fact that they’ve brought up Unova in the update has really piqued our curiosity. You see, Unova is the region featured in the fifth installment of Pokémon video games. Some folks are speculating this could hint at a possible remake of those games, but it could also be connected to ongoing Unova-themed events in ‘Pokémon Go’.
For this year, there’s a plan to release a brand new Pokémon Trading Card Game collection themed around Unova, following the current trend of Unova-centric events in the game.

At a ‘Pokémon Presents’ event in February 2024, the announcement was made for ‘Pokémon Legends Z-A’, scheduled to be released in 2025. This game is part of the ‘Pokémon Legends’ series, succeeding ‘Pokémon Legends: Arceus’. In ‘Pokémon Legends Z-A’, players will revisit the Kalos region and discover Lumiose City.
Although the latest ‘Pokémon Go’ update doesn’t provide concrete information, it seems to suggest some thrilling developments in our not-so-distant future. The connection between ‘Pokémon Presents’ and Unova hints at potential major announcements possibly happening in February 2025.
While we’re waiting for confirmation from The Pokémon Company, hints dropped by ‘Pokémon Go’ have sparked much speculation. Could it be a fresh game, a revamped version, or exciting events? Regardless, the horizon seems promising for Pokémon fans.
