Big Brother 21’s Ovi Kabir Marries Hannah Blackwell in Colorful Two-Day Multicultural Wedding in Tennessee

2025 saw the nuptials of Big Brother season 21 contestant, Ovi Kabir, and his college sweetheart, Hannah Claire Blackwell. Their wedding spanned two days, on August 1st and 2nd, in Sevierville, Tennessee. The festivities merged Ovi’s Bangladeshi heritage with Hannah’s Southern traditions, resulting in a one-of-a-kind multicultural event. In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE on August 6th, Ovi labeled the occasion as “more than just a celebration,” referring to it as “an indelible mark” symbolizing their love that is now etched into history for all to witness.

Two-day wedding blends Bangladeshi and Southern traditions

On the initial day, a conventional Bangladeshi gaye holud – a pre-wedding custom involving the application of turmeric paste to the couple for blessings – was held. This event took place within The Glass House at Nichols Heir and was filled with music, dancing, and vibrant clothing. Hannah opted for a lehenga, while Ovi wore a panjabi, both choices reflecting their cultural heritage. Additionally, guests were introduced to Mehndi (henna) traditions for the first time.

On the second day, the event moved to the Grand Hall for an American-wedding-style celebration, with a unique blend of “vivid romanticism and contemporary garden party” as its theme. Although the overall atmosphere echoed Hannah’s Southern roots, Ovi’s heritage was tastefully incorporated through significant details.

Big Brother stars join the celebration in Tennessee

The event warmly accommodated 190 people, among whom were former contestants Tommy Bracco, Kat Dunn, Cliff Hogg, and Nicole Fontanez (also known as Anthony). Additionally, Alex Ramo, Kellye Cash, Tatum Sheppard Filegar, Avery Rizzotto, and Synclaire Warren graced the event with their presence.

Why the couple chose the smoky mountains for their big day

Ovi and Hannah first crossed paths at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, which marked the start of their love story. They reminisced that East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains were the cradle of their romantic journey. After spending nearly nine years together, from late-night study sessions to weekend drives, they decided it was only appropriate to tie the knot in the very place where their relationship began. “It already felt like our home,” they expressed.

At the altar, an array of pink and purple blossoms adorned the pathway, offering a breathtaking view of the majestic Great Smoky Mountains. As a tribute to Ovi’s beloved game, Kingdom Hearts, family members processed to the melodious tune of “Dearly Beloved” by Yoko Shimomura. The wedding party made their grand entrance accompanied by the Andante Maestoso from The Nutcracker, while Hannah gracefully walked down the aisle to Patrick Doyle’s Harry in Winter.

Hannah donned a Wona Concept Devotion wedding dress, along with an extended cathedral-length veil and Verstolo jewelry. Ovi and his attendants dressed in Friar Tuxedo suits, while their corgi, Mowgli, sported a miniature tuxedo as well. The newlyweds plan to unwind on their honeymoon at Conrad Punta de Mita in Mexico, indulging in a week-long vacation following their multicultural wedding festivities.
