Beyonce Leads This Year’s Grammys With 11 Nominations, Her Country Single Texas Hold Em Dominates; Details Inside

As a die-hard music fan with a lifelong obsession, I can confidently say that 2022 has been the year of Queen Bey! With her Cowboy Carter album sweeping the Grammy categories, she’s not just reigning supreme in pop, but conquering country music as well. It feels like every time I turn on the radio, there she is, breaking records and making history.

This year, Beyoncé rules supreme at the Grammys with a total of 11 nominations. Remarkably, her Cowboy Carter album took home all four awards in the country categories. Moreover, she has left an impact in other significant categories such as Album of the Year, Best Country Album, and Song of the Year for Texas Hold Em.

Other performances nominated were: Best Solo Country Performance for “16 Carriages”, Best Duo/Group Country Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus, and Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya”. After accumulating 99 nominations over her career, she broke the tie with husband Jay Z who now has a total of 89 nominations, one of which is from the Cowboy Carter album.

Beyoncé, a renowned figure in the world of Hollywood music, boasts an astounding 32 Grammy Awards under her belt. Standing beside her is Taylor Swift, who made history as the first artist to win the Album of the Year award consecutively. Moreover, the singer from Maroon 5, also nominated for The Tortured Poets Department, added another layer of history by becoming the first female artist to receive seven nominations in that particular category.

In the Record of the Year Category, Swift’s Fortnight (featuring Post Malone) and Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso are facing off against Beyonce’s song. Meanwhile, Carpenter’s Please, Please, Please is vying for Song of the Year alongside Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die With a Smile, Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, and others.

Malone received recognition in the category of Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for his song “Levii’s Jeans,” which he performed with Beyoncé. This duo, known for their hit “Single Ladies,” has made history by dominating not only the American music categories but also Country music ones. Two months ago, they were overlooked at the CMA Awards, where they didn’t receive any nominations despite having five nods across the fields of country and American Roots music.
