Sesame Workshop and Knives Out have teamed up for a fun new mystery called “Forks Out.” Someone has eaten Cookie Monster’s triple-berry pie, and everyone’s a suspect! Could it be Oscar the Grouch, known for being grumpy? Or maybe Elmo or Zoe? Luckily, the amazing puppet detective Beignet Blanc is on the case. Though, some of us still think Angel, the vampire detective turned puppet, was the best! But getting off topic…the mystery is afoot!
Fans of mystery novels might spot nods to classic whodunits like Murder on the Orient Express and Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case in this story. Will we see more mysteries featuring these characters? It’s hard to say! A full Muppets x Knives Out crossover seems unlikely, as Disney, who owns the Muppets, might not want to collaborate with Netflix. However, we at TopMob created our own version with The Rainbow Connection (see the video above). And honestly, Sesame Street offers plenty of Muppet fun in the meantime, so that will have to satisfy us until then.
The new mystery film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, is currently playing in theaters. You’ll be able to stream it on Netflix starting December 12th.
