Benny Blanco Reveals Being Selena Gomez’s ‘Personal Journal’ Amid I Said I Love You First Album Release; Details Inside

Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are preparing to unveil their upcoming album titled “I Said I Love You First.” Before the songs become available for fans to stream on various music platforms, the duo shared an exclusive chat with one another on Spotify.

The pair additionally released a sneak peek video where they discussed their method behind writing songs for the upcoming album. Wearing a white shirt and patterned pants, Blanco inquired his fiancée about how she obtained the lyrics and melodies for the new set of tracks.

In a recent interview, The Only Murders in the Building’s leading actor shared that there were moments when things got hectic, but they managed to collaborate effectively. Later on, the multi-talented performer elaborated on her comments, explaining that it was more like a series of “I have this thought, what is that, and how does that affect you?” types of exchanges.

In a light-hearted manner, Blanco playfully suggested that his role in the songwriting process was similar to being Selena Gomez’s personal diary. He said, “I felt like your private journal.” To this, Selena playfully responded, “Well, that’s true!” The songwriter also shared that he would frequently jot down notes whenever Selena discussed any album-related topics.

Sharing the same information with the Star of Monte Carlo, Blanco expressed, “I was consistently jotting down whatever you said, regardless of where we were.” He added, “On occasion, you’d say something truly significant, and I would — I wasn’t sure if you even noticed — but I’d grab my phone and think to myself, ‘Wow, that’s an amazing line for a song.’

Since their engagement in December, “Meanwhile, I Said I Love You First” marks the duo’s debut album together.

The complete album will be released on the music platforms on March 21.
