Ben Affleck didn’t enjoy wearing the Batman suits at all. He described them as awful, incredibly hot, and not breathable. He felt they were designed purely for appearance, with no consideration for the comfort of the actor wearing them.
Let’s be honest, Batman’s costume doesn’t look very comfortable. The half-mask, jutting chin, and pointed ears are visually striking, but not exactly practical. Ben Affleck explained that the cowl actually made things worse, especially since he tends to sweat a lot. He said wearing the suit was one thing, but covering his head trapped all the heat and made him feel like he was pouring with sweat. It just made him overheat.
Ben Affleck wasn’t alone in disliking the Batsuit – the stunt performers found it incredibly hot after only 45 minutes of wear. Affleck admitted it was difficult to feel heroic while being so uncomfortable, but most viewers thought he rocked the suit. It makes you wonder what other actors who’ve played Batman thought about the costume!
