Ben Affleck Reveals Why He Refused to Buy His Son Sneakers Worth 6000 USD in Viral Video: ‘Work for That’

Ben Affleck emphasizes the importance of teaching his children the worth of money and prefers not to overindulge them with desired items. His stance became popular recently when he refused to buy his 13-year-old son, Samuel, a pair of Dior Air Force 1s valued at $6,000. Now, Affleck has shared the reasoning behind his decision during a sneaker convention.

Affleck remarked on a recent episode of Today with Jenna & Friends that when he mentioned his desire for expensive sneakers, the person replied, “We can afford them.” Affleck then responded, “You think you can afford them? I could buy them many times over. You’re telling me you don’t have any money?

As a lifestyle advisor, I firmly believe in instilling a strong work ethic in the younger generation. While I aspire to shower my children with all the love and resources they deserve, I also want them to appreciate these blessings and understand that life requires effort for success. This is why I encourage them to pursue their ambitions through hard work rather than having things handed to them.

Recently, during an interview, I disclosed that my older children, Seraphina, 16, and Violet, 19, are no exceptions to this rule. They actively participate in odd jobs to earn their own income, instilling in them a sense of responsibility and self-reliance.

Eventually, the actor advised his child to put in 1,000 hours of work to accumulate the funds for the desired sneakers. Once he has saved enough money, if he still desires to purchase those sneakers, he is welcome to do so.

The actor shares three kids with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

Regarding work, the actor is presently occupied with the promotion of his film The Accountant 2. On Monday night, April 21st, he attended a special screening at iPic Fulton Market in New York City. Alongside him were his co-stars Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Daniella Pineda.

During an interview with Blavity, he shared how his son responded to The Accountant 2. He explained that his son exclaimed, “At last, you’ve made a great film!”

The movie premieres this coming Friday, with Affleck portraying Christian Wolff, a character known for his knack in solving intricate puzzles. After an old friend gets killed, he uncovers a mysterious message urging him to “uncover the accountant,” leading him on a mission to crack the case.
