Fans affectionately refer to Ben Affleck as the most eligible bachelor in Hollywood, but what does he himself think about this label? In a recent chat, the 52-year-old actor jokingly addressed the compliment and shared some insights into the kind of women he prefers to date.
On Thursday, May 8th, the actor was seen exiting Lavo Restaurant in West Hollywood. When a TMZ journalist referred to him as “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor” in Spanish and enquired about his wellbeing, he playfully acknowledged the compliment and replied fluently in Spanish, expressing that he was doing “very good.
As a devoted admirer, if someone were to inquire about my fondness for Latinas, I’d swiftly affirm, “Naturally, siempre” – Spanish for ‘of course, always.’ It’s no secret that my ex-spouse, the radiant Jennifer Lopez, is a Latina, and I also shared time with Ana de Armas, another remarkable Latina.
Back in 2022, I found myself working alongside Ben Affleck on our movie, Gigli. Our connection was undeniable from the start, and before we knew it, we were engaged just a few months into our relationship. However, life took us down different paths in 2004, and we went our separate ways. But fate brought us back together again, and I’m grateful for every moment with him, even if it didn’t last the first time around.
In the year 2021, they reignited their connection and began dating once more. The subsequent year saw them getting engaged again. By July 2022, they were married in Las Vegas. However, their love story didn’t have a long-lasting future as they filed for a divorce in August 2024. Their separation was officially completed in January 2025.
Affleck spoke candidly about their separation during an interview with GQ in March, discussing “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” the documentary he and Lopez made together.
He stated that there wasn’t any major event or singular problem that caused the demise of their marriage. He explained it to the publication as, “There’s no drama, no daytime soap opera, no mystery.” Essentially, he said, if someone asks, “What happened?”, there isn’t a straightforward answer like a specific incident. Instead, it’s a tale about people trying to navigate their lives and relationships in much the same way as many of us typically do.
Last month at the debut of his new movie, The Accountant 2, Affleck expressed that Lopez is remarkable and wonderful with his children. He further mentioned they have a remarkable connection. Additionally, he declared his deep affection for the actress and acknowledged her as a crucial figure in his life.
