Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Finalize Divorce 20 Weeks After Actress’ Filing: Report

20 weeks following Jennifer Lopez’s filing for divorce on August 20, 2024, Ben Affleck and she officially ended their marriage. The news was confirmed on Monday, January 6, based on court documents the publication obtained.

In the early 2000s, these former partners were engaged but split up in 2004. However, they reignited their love in 2021, leading to a quiet wedding in Las Vegas in July 2022. They kept their marriage under wraps until a grand celebration took place among friends and family in Georgia on August 20, 2022.

2 years after their wedding in Georgia, JLo submitted divorce papers, indicating April 26 as the date they separated and stating irreconcilable differences as the cause of their breakup. On that occasion, several media sources stated that she filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court without legal representation. The actress asked the judge to waive spousal support for both parties and divide attorney fees.

As a devoted follower, I’ve found it uncertain in my legal documentation what exactly comprises our shared and quasi-shared assets, as well as what belongs individually to me. The specifics will be clarified at a later point in time.

The Atlas star also requested that her former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez, be restored.

Despite having finalized their divorce, ex-couple Bennifer (Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck) continue to collaborate professionally. Lopez appears in two films produced by Affleck: Unstoppable and The Kiss of the Spider Woman.

Previously, Affleck was in marriage with Jennifer Garner, a union that produced their children Violet (18), Seraphina (15), and Samuel (12). On the other hand, Lopez had been married thrice before her current relationship, and she shares her 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
