Ever since the movie Knives Out came out, fans have been playfully asking for a fun combination: a team-up with Sesame Street! Now, the sophisticated detective Benoit Blanc, normally solving mysteries involving adults, finds himself trying to figure things out with a brand new group of colorful characters.
I’m so excited! Netflix and Sesame Workshop teamed up and made a really cool new video! It’s called “Forks Out,” and it’s all about a mystery – Cookie Monster’s amazing triple-berry pie goes missing, and someone needs to figure out what happened to it!
Meet Beignet Blanc, a puppet inspired by Daniel Craig’s James Bond. He announces, “I’ve arrived on Sesame Street, though the sunny day has turned cloudy.” Beignet Blanc is on the case to solve a delicious mystery: who ate the pie? Could it be Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, Zoe, or even Cookie Monster?

Sesame Workshop and Netflix have teamed up to create a new series that mixes the charm of Sesame Street with the mystery of a detective story. In this short, Beignet Blanc demonstrates impressive detective abilities, mirroring those of his live-action counterpart.
As a big mystery fan, I immediately spotted nods to some classics – things like Murder on the Orient Express and Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case. There’s even a fun little reference to Herbert Birdsfoot from Sesame Street! It’s clear Beignet Blanc really knows his stuff and has done his research; he’s definitely prepared.
It’s a great time to be a Netflix user! The new Knives Out mystery, “Wake Up Dead Man,” arrives on December 12th, and the newest episodes of Sesame Street are available to stream immediately.
