Baz Luhrmann Will Direct a JOAN OF ARC Movie, JEHANNE D’ARC

As a seasoned gamer and history enthusiast with a penchant for epic tales of courage and valor, I am beyond thrilled about Baz Luhrmann‘s upcoming Joan of Arc movie, Jehanne d’Arc. With Luhrmann at the helm, I know we are in store for a spectacle that will be nothing short of breathtakingly surreal.

Exciting news! A film about Joan of Arc, titled “Jehanne d’Arc“, is in production and will be directed by Baz Luhrmann. Given his style, we can expect this movie to be grand and vividly dreamlike – just the right fit for a story about a valiant woman warrior. Crossing our fingers that it also explores Joan’s queer identity. At this point, we only know that the story will revolve around a young French peasant who claimed divine guidance to lead an army and protect France during the Hundred Years’ War.

So far, details about the plot are scarce, but casting for “Jehanne d’Arc” is underway. The production team is on the lookout for a young actress to portray the lead role, which they describe as an exceptional tale of a girl maturing during the Hundred Years’ War.

If Luhrmann is seeking ideas for his film on Joan of Arc, we’d suggest he looks no further than Chappell Roan’s rendition of “Good Luck, Babe!” at the 2024 VMAs as a source of inspiration.

We can’t wait to hear more about this movie. Maybe Roan can come aboard for the soundtrack.
