Battlefield 6 quickly became a hit, selling 7 million copies within its first three days. Electronic Arts (EA) announced this is the most successful launch ever for the Battlefield series.
As a Battlefield player, it was awesome to hear from Vince Zampella after the launch of the new game! He basically said the team is super grateful for all the support from both the developers and us, the community. He emphasized they don’t take milestones like this for granted and promised even more cool stuff is coming in the next few weeks. It’s good to know they appreciate us!
During the game’s first weekend, players were very active online. They played a total of over 172 million matches and watched more than 15 million hours of live streams.
Battlefield 6 had a peak of 747,440 players on Steam, but Sony and Microsoft haven’t shared how many people were playing on their platforms.
Battlefield 6 became available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10th. Since then, the development team at BF Studios has been swiftly addressing issues and incorporating feedback from the expanding player base.
Season 1 arrives on October 28th, bringing with it the new Rogue Ops mode, a fresh map called Blackwell Fields, and the ability to play in 4v4 matches.
The impressive launch of Battlefield 6 signals a strong recovery for the series following the lukewarm response to Battlefield 2042. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 arriving on November 14th, Battlefield 6’s success is likely to intensify the competition for players during the holiday shopping season.
