Battlefield 6 release date and open beta start confirmed

The highly-anticipated Battlefield 6 is set to drop on October 10, 2025, available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. This release date was confirmed after a previous rumor, but unfortunately, it seems there are no plans yet for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.

Furthermore, Electronic Arts (EA) has planned not one but two open beta weekends for Battlefield 6, happening from August 9-10 and August 14-17 in the year 2025. Players stand a chance to join the fun of the initial beta weekend even before everyone else by winning raffles organized by content creators.

Taking part in the open beta weekends grants players access to cosmetic items for the complete game. Rest assured, these items maintain a realistic aesthetic, as Battlefield 6 aims to steer clear of over-the-top or silly skins.

During the open beta phase, it’s crucial because Electronic Arts plans to provide two distinct gameplay modes for the one featuring an open weapon system that EA prefers, and another class-based system more akin to traditional gaming that longtime fans have enjoyed.

In the upcoming release BF6, you’ll have two options: the Standard and Phantom Editions. Both versions come with cosmetic items as a pre-order bonus. However, the Phantom Edition includes an extra set of themed cosmetics.

As an ardent enthusiast, I can’t help but share some exciting insights about Battlefield 6 straight from its Design Director! Dive into his thoughts on the innovative destruction system, the intricate map designs, and the buzz surrounding the weapon system debacle. Stay tuned for more updates!
