Starting December 1st, Paramount+ will have a great collection of classic Batman movies, including Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992), Batman Forever (1995), and Batman & Robin (1997).
Here’s a quick breakdown of who directed each movie, who starred, and what each film is about.

Batman (1989)
Director: Tim Burton
Stars: Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger
What It’s About:
Michael Keaton first appears as Batman in a Gotham City thrown into turmoil by Jack Nicholson’s Joker. The film follows Bruce Wayne’s struggle to defeat the Joker, who is targeting journalist Vicki Vale and plotting to poison the entire city.

Batman Returns (1992)
Director: Tim Burton
Stars: Michael Keaton, Michelle Pfeiffer, Danny DeVito, Christopher Walken
What It’s About:
In this story, Batman faces off against the Penguin, a rejected member of Gotham society who’s teamed up with the dishonest businessman Max Shreck. Meanwhile, Selina Kyle becomes Catwoman, creating a complicated situation where Batman is caught between both of them as the Penguin attempts to take over the city.

Batman Forever (1995)
Director: Joel Schumacher
Stars: Val Kilmer, Jim Carrey, Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, Chris O’Donnell
What It’s About:
In “Batman Forever,” Val Kilmer plays Batman as he battles the combined threat of Two-Face and the Riddler. These villains plot to steal the intelligence of Gotham’s people using a special machine. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne deals with issues from his past, develops a relationship with psychologist Dr. Chase Meridian, and begins training young Dick Grayson to become his new sidekick, Robin.

Batman & Robin (1997)
Director: Joel Schumacher
Stars: George Clooney, Chris O’Donnell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman, Alicia Silverstone
What It’s About:
I was completely captivated by the dynamic between Clooney’s Batman and O’Donnell’s Robin – their struggle with trust felt so real as they battled Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy! And then, seeing Barbara Wilson arrive in Gotham and ultimately become Batgirl was fantastic. The stakes were incredibly high when Freeze tried to freeze the entire planet, and it was thrilling to watch the whole Bat-family come together to stop him.
