The impact of vulnerability affects just a single opponent, making it less effective when combined with her area-of-effect attacks.

At present, there’s a gap between Blade’s cooldown and the costumes it can use (Young Lady is on a 3-turn cooldown, while Apostle is on a 5-turn cooldown).

－ High cost and very low HP makes her not competitive for PVP

Blade for PVE

Previously, we emphasized in our Apostle Blade guide that she possesses remarkable offensive abilities, yet surprisingly low HP stats compared to other 3-star characters, even Wiggle. This means she’s a character capable of dealing massive damage but is vulnerable and requires protective allies to ensure her survival.

Apostle Blade boasts great strength, but given its 5-turn cooldown duration, it’s advisable to also enhance YL.Blade to fully equip Apostle Blade’s abilities. Essentially, if you’ve upgraded Apostle Blade, it would be beneficial to upgrade YL.Blade as well.

YL.Blade offers excellent worth for PVE combat as she excels in both eliminating groups of enemies and defeating challenging bosses. Her Area of Effect (AOE) is distinct, striking a 3×3 area starting from the frontmost tile rather than the center like most similar attacks. This feature proves beneficial when dealing with complex enemy formations.

Contrasting her approach, the debilitating effect of her weakness reduction affects primarily her primary target, much like Cat Eris. This debuff takes place prior to her attack, making her deal massive damage to her main target (a base of 600%, multiplied by 2.5 for amplification, and augmented further by 4 stacking chains).

Keep in mind that the Damage Amplification lasts for 4 rounds, which allows you to significantly increase both Apostle Blade’s initial damage and its counterattack damage. With skillful maneuvering, multiple counterattacks can be triggered, leading to an enormous amount of damage accumulating swiftly against the primary target.

Blade’s equipment is excellent for tracking down fiends and participating in guild battles, especially when both Young Lady and Apostle are employed (provided you can keep Blade alive). In the Tower of Salvation, YL.Blade shines due to her beneficial area-of-effect and boss-slaying abilities. In the Tower of Pride, she’s useful for clearing lower level mobs (up to level 6), but not ideal for high scores since there are no current floors designed for dark teams. When it comes to Last Night, Blade’s damage output and chain stacking are strong points, but remember that the vulnerability effect doesn’t apply in this scenario.

Blade for PVP

Unfortunately Blade is not very good for PVP due to her high cost skills and abysmally low HP.

Despite the strong Area of Effect (AOE) of Young Lady Blade, it’s hard to justify choosing her over Wind Dancer Venaka, who offers the same AOE but at a lower Spirit Point (SP) cost and more uniform damage amplification across all targets. Plus, Venaka can summon DJ Venaka, one of the top PVP attackers in the game.

Like many character attackers, using their unique equipment offers approximately a 45% increase in attack power on the bonus stat. While this can be beneficial, it’s not essential for optimal performance unless you’re aiming for a high score.

Conclusion

Blade is all about inflicting harm and even more harm – that’s his game! The multiplicative effect of Young Lady’s damage boost, when combined with Apostle’s fierce counter-strike ability, makes Blade capable of dealing more damage than any other character. Because Young Lady’s damage enhancement persists for 4 turns, it can remain active indefinitely and be employed to intensify both the initial and counterattack damage of Apostle Blade against the principal target.

As a dedicated gamer, I can’t stress enough how beneficial it is to have both Apostle and Young Lady in your roster, especially if you’re already invested in Apostle. The reason being, Apostle has a lengthy 5-turn cooldown, and having Young Lady by your side significantly enhances your gameplay during those intervals.

However, even if Apostle isn’t part of your current team, Young Lady is still an excellent costume choice for her own merits. But you may not be able to fully leverage its potential without Apostle in the picture.
