Banner Guide – Queen of Gluttis Granadair

Exclusive Gear

Overview

Basically a buffed Homunculus Lathel for magic teams

This costume significantly boosts offensive magic power – it’s one of the best available, and essential for tackling the hardest challenges in the game. (No offense to Helena’s costume, of course!)

Costs only 1 SP, which is great for Mirror Wars PVP

Both Granadair costumes are being released at once

Granadair currently has a cooldown gap with her two costumes (cooldown every 7th turn)

The M.ATK buff is strong on the turn you use it, but relatively weak the next turn

Requires a lot of focused investment, because the two costumes banners are being released at once

Granadair for PVE

Granadair is a new PVP staple, because she is now arguably the strongest offensive magic buffer.

Queen of Gluttis Granadair functions similarly to a magical Homunculus Lathel. When fully upgraded to +5, she boosts your magical attack by 80% plus 70%, totaling a significant 150% on the turn she’s activated. The buff then reduces to 70% on the next turn, effectively giving you a powerful attack every other turn. She also provides a small benefit of 1 SP recovery each turn, which can be helpful when SP regeneration is limited.

In summary, Granadair is:

  • Compared to Helena, better at offensive buffing for magic teams, but worse at defensive buffing
  • Compared to Teresse, around the same power level, but who is better will depend on the specfic enemy and your specific team comp.

She’s one of the best buffers available, making her a great choice for all player-versus-environment content, particularly challenging activities like fiend hunts and guild raids.

Comparison with Helena

Helena is a well-liked magic support character. While she’s more adaptable for most player-versus-player (PVP) situations, Granadair generally performs better in high-level, endgame PVP.

Helena, a B-Rank Idol, consistently boosts magical attack (M.ATK) by 115% each turn. While her total potential buff (230%) is comparable to Granadair’s (220%), depending on the situation, Granadair is generally considered stronger. This is because Granadair has two costumes that enhance damage – her main costume and the Shrine Maiden costume, which provides a significant damage amplification of at least 115%. Helena only has one offensive costume (B-Rank Idol); her other costume (Top Idol Helena) focuses on defense. As a result, Granadair is the more powerful choice for magical support in challenging end-game content like fiend hunts and guild raids, and is usually preferred over Helena.

Helena remains a strong choice for many PvE game modes. Her B-Rank Idol form provides a significant 50% critical hit rate boost. While this isn’t useful in Fiend Hunts or Guild Raids (due to their critical hit limitations), it’s a big help in modes like the story campaign and Last Night, unless you’re willing to spend a lot of time trying to get lucky with critical hits.

Helena, a B-Rank Idol, is a top-tier healer, especially valuable in Tower of Salvation. Her healing, combined with the damage reduction from Top Idol, can be crucial for surviving difficult high-level fiend hunts. Unlike Granadair, who lacks healing or defensive buffs, Helena excels in battles where staying alive is key.

Comparison with Teresse

Teresse is a strong support character for magic-focused teams. Her Medical Club skill boosts attack and magic attack by 120% for two turns, with one turn of cooldown afterward. Her limited Beach Angel version provides a significant 200% damage boost when the team’s chain count is five or lower. This damage amplification is comparable to the effects of Granadair’s costumes, as Granadair also has both an attack/magic attack buff and a damage amplification skill available through costumes.

Teresse and Granadair both have limits on how often they can use their abilities. Teresse’s attack and magic attack boost has a 5-turn cooldown. Granadair, when switching between her two forms (Shrine Maiden and Queen of Gluttis), must wait 7 turns before switching again – similar to how Liberta’s costume works.

Teresse and Granadair are generally evenly matched in terms of power. Teresse tends to perform better in teams focused on short chains of attacks, and those that combine physical and magical damage. Granadair excels in situations where you need to unleash powerful, all-out attacks in a single turn, or when facing enemies that weaken your team.

Granadair for PVP

Because Granadair is a new character, let’s quickly go over her stats. While supporter stats aren’t crucial in PvE (they don’t impact how much damage you deal), being able to survive attacks is really important in PvP.

Granadair has base HP of 4011 and base M.RES of 10%. By comparison:

  • Helena has base HP of 2016
  • Liberta has base HP of 3885
  • Diana has a base HP of 4011 (same as Granadair).

Granadair is incredibly durable and can withstand a lot of damage in player-versus-player combat, effectively functioning like a tank. Her starting health is nearly twice as much as Helena’s.

Queen of Gluttis Granadair is a powerful addition to Mirror Wars teams because her ability is inexpensive – costing only 1 Skill Point – and provides a significant boost to magical attack right at the start of battle. She’s even better because she can also remove harmful effects and then increase damage further on the next turn with her Shrine Maiden skill.

Granadair doesn’t increase critical hit rate, which actually makes her offensive boost less effective than Helena’s in PvP. Consistently dealing critical damage is more valuable in PvP than the 35% Magic Attack increase Granadair provides.

In Mirror Wars, Granadair probably won’t replace Helena in teams focused on magical attacks, unless the team already uses Glacia’s Disciplinary Committee (because Glacia deals fixed damage that can’t critically hit). However, Granadair could be useful in magical defense teams, as her high health and defense stats help her survive the first turn.

In Golden Colosseum,

Granadair’s special armor doesn’t improve how well she supports her team. It only increases her health points. While this can help her survive longer in player-versus-player combat, it’s not essential, and it barely makes a difference in player-versus-environment content. Therefore, upgrading this armor should be a low priority when using in-game resources.

Conclusion

Definitely prioritize getting Granadair. She’s as strong as other top-tier support characters and will be essential for magic-based teams when tackling the hardest PvE challenges.

A copy will be available as a random encounter in the story pack pub.
