Overview

Versatile in all game modes including PVP

Excellent kit that drains SP, reduces M.RES and reaches far for only 3 SP

Consistently deals high damage on all her skills

When this costume first came out, it was the best available. However, newer costumes have since been released that offer more damage or a longer reach.

Eclipse’s base M.ATK stat is on the low side, which limits her damage output

Relatively low improvements from potential upgrades

Eclipse for PVE

Nightmare Bunny Eclipse was initially launched as a special, limited-time costume in December 2023 and quickly became one of the strongest options available. While still effective after two years, newer, more powerful costumes have since surpassed it in both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player gameplay.

Damage

When Nightmare Bunny Eclipse launched, its damage output was among the best in the game – at its maximum level, it dealt 600% more damage, matching Bright Moon Dalvi’s top-tier performance for magic costumes.

These days, a 600% damage boost is still considered good, but some costumes can deal significantly more damage – even exceeding 1,000%. Many of the best attackers also have abilities that strengthen themselves, letting them create powerful attack combinations. Eclipse, however, has several strong attacks but lacks these self-buffing abilities.

Keep in mind that Eclipse’s base attack power is a bit low. The average magical attack stat for characters at level 100 is 352, but Eclipse’s is only 308, which ultimately lowers her overall damage.

Range

When Nightmare Bunny first came out, I was blown away! She was the only costume with that incredible long cross-shaped attack range, which really set her apart and shook up player-versus-player battles. Plus, back then, not many characters could even hit a 3×3 area, so she was amazing for quickly taking out groups of enemies and dealing with tough formations in player-versus-environment content. She was a game-changer, honestly!

There are a lot of characters now with strong area-of-effect (AOE) attacks, including those that hit multiple enemies in a 3×3 area, or even entire rows or columns. Some, like Sacred Justia and Celebrity Bunny Loen, can even attack 12 tiles at once. Because of this, while Eclipse is still a good character, it’s no longer the absolute best.

Utility

Nightmare Bunny Eclipse still remains unique for the bonus utility effects on her skill.

Eclipse uses 1 SP with each attack, but quickly earns it back – she only needs to hit one enemy to recover the cost of her skill. When facing groups of enemies, she can restore your entire team’s SP, which is incredibly helpful in long fights where SP recovery is limited.

Nightmare Bunny Eclipse is particularly helpful in the later stages of Tower of Salvation, where you don’t regain SP and can quickly run out after the first turn. She can be repeatedly switched into and out of battle during the Level 10 Crystal Battle to continuously refill your team’s SP, which can be a real game-changer.

Eclipse reduces enemy Magic Resistance by 20%, a valuable ability shared by only a few 5-star costumes like DJ.Venaka and Lovely Lady Elise. While her reduction isn’t as high as some others, Eclipse stands out because she can lower Magic Resistance, drain enemy Skill Points, and inflict significant damage all at once. This makes her incredibly versatile and useful in a wide variety of PvE game modes.

Eclipse for PVP

When NB.Eclipse came out, she immediately became the costume to have in PvP. Seriously, nothing else even came close! She could hit across the entire row and column with massive damage – no other attacker could do that. Plus, her ability to drain SP was a game-changer. Everyone basically had to assume they were starting battles with only 6 SP instead of the usual 12! She completely shook up the meta overnight, and everyone started building their teams specifically to counter her. I remember so many players grinding out gear just to get their units to 105% or 110% Magic Resistance, all to try and survive her damage reduction effect. She was that powerful.

I still see NB.Eclipse played a lot in competitive matches, and she’s definitely still a powerful pick! But things have shifted since she first came out. She used to be absolutely unbeatable, but now she’s just really, really good – still strong, but not quite as dominant as she once was.

New defensive units, like Comeback Idol Granhildr and Beach Morphea, are now available. These units begin with 6 Skill Points (SP) and gain 6 more at the start of turn 2. Both Granhildr and Morphea require 5 SP to use their preemptive skills (potentially more after upgrades). Because of this, Eclipse’s ability to drain SP is less effective, as she’ll typically only remove 1 SP after a preemptive skill has been activated.

Granhildr’s arrival has significantly weakened the effectiveness of three-SP attackers in early-game attack teams. Because she can absorb a lot of damage from area-of-effect attacks, you can’t depend on units like NB.Eclipse to lead your first-turn offense. While a combination of B.Helena and NB.Eclipse can defeat Granhildr, it uses 4 SP, leaving you with only 1 SP to handle the rest of the opponent’s team.

Venaka is now considered the top Magic DPS choice in PvP, surpassing Eclipse. While both have similar area-of-effect capabilities and overall damage output (Venaka’s 700% compares to Eclipse’s 440%), Venaka boasts higher Magic Attack (363 vs. 308). Crucially, Venaka reduces enemy Magic Resistance by 50%, double Eclipse’s 20%, making her far more consistent at dealing significant damage, even to opponents with strong magical defenses.

Even with its weaknesses, NB.Eclipse is still excellent in player-versus-player (PVP) combat. While Venaka is currently stronger in the current PVP landscape, Eclipse remains a top choice for a 3-Star Power costume. It’s impressive that, a year after its release, Eclipse is still frequently used in competitive PVP.

Conclusion

Don’t spend too much on a 2-year-old costume. While NB.Eclipse is still a good option and many players use it, it’s an older design, so it’s best not to invest heavily in it, especially with exciting new costumes coming out soon.

If you own Nightmare Bunny but didn’t fully upgrade her during the last New Year event, you can now reach the maximum level. If you haven’t started building Eclipse, she’s not a top priority right now, as other characters are becoming more powerful. It’s better to save your resources for the newest characters instead.
