Elise for PVE

In PVE gameplay, Elise is particularly valuable due to her combat abilities, but she’s most popularly chosen for her enchanting “Lovely Lady” outfit. The “Lovely Lady” costume features a unique skill that decreases Defense (DEF) and Magic Resistance (M.RES) in an area-of-effect (AOE), shaped like a skip-targeting plus sign. This ability is often extremely beneficial against tough mobs with high DEF or M.RES stats in PVE scenarios.

Alternatively speaking, Operative Code Name O currently lacks a distinct role. Given that her ability affects merely two adjacent squares, she’s less effective in dealing with large groups of enemies such as those led by Liatris and Loen.

Although Elise’s skill damage appears impressive (reaching 1000% at maximum potential), it’s important to note that her offensive capabilities are rather limited due to her low base attack stats. Specifically, her base ATK is a modest 275, which is significantly lower than Liatris (352) and Eris (374). Consequently, Elise doesn’t excel as an attacker, and there are fire type characters with superior damage output and area-of-effect abilities.

CNO.Elise stands out for not having a cooldown period and for charging SP points every time she uses her skill. When she’s at level +3 and higher (without potential), she earns 1 SP point per skill use. However, this isn’t particularly remarkable because it’s the same amount of SP you’d get from simply performing a regular attack. Once her potential is activated, she earns 2 SP points per skill use instead. While this improvement is noticeable, neither CNO.Elise nor FS.Olstein nor NB.Eclipse can compete with each other in terms of SP recharge efficiency. FS.Olstein and NB.Eclipse have the ability to fully replenish your SP bar with a single attack.

As a gamer, I appreciate no cooldowns, but it’s not exactly groundbreaking when there are numerous fire characters who can seamlessly switch between their abilities without any pause. Currently, there aren’t many game modes that would advantageously utilize Elise’s gradual SP regeneration. Consequently, CNO.Elise’s usefulness in PVE is rather limited at this point, primarily serving as a placeholder while LL.Elise is cooling down.

Elise for PVP

CNO.Elise is better than average for PVP, but far from matching the top tier units.

Given her affordable price tag of 2 SP, she makes for an effective starting choice. Her ability to target enemies in the back row is particularly useful for revealing hidden foes. With the game balance adjustments taking effect towards the end of 2024, CNO’s damage output has significantly increased, making her a reliable option for eliminating low defense opponents. This advantage is amplified when you pair her with a buffer like Liberta.

Elise also has reasonably good HP (2877), which means she can sometimes tank a hit or two.

Instead of Elise, there are superior choices for the 2 SP position. For instance, Justia and DC.Glacia inflict a set amount of damage, DW.Eclipse depletes SP, while QOP.Michaela/AA.Michaela have far greater range.

Consequently, while CNO.Elise excels at Player vs Player (PVP) and performs exceptionally well in lower ranks, there are other options that might be more suitable.

Conclusion

Code Name Onyx Elise exudes an appealing character, yet she may not be top-notch when it comes to fighting skills. Acquiring a duplicate of her is essential for activating her fated interaction at Glupy Diner, but you’ll find yourself relying on her infrequently during battles.
