Oh, the joy that fills my heart as I pen these words! As a die-hard fan of the enchanting world of Bananya, I can barely contain my excitement for the impending return of our favorite white cat inside a banana! Since my first encounter with this extraordinary series back in 2016, I’ve been captivated by the whimsical adventures of these feline friends.
After a long wait, our striped feline friend residing inside bananas, Bananya, is returning for more exciting journeys! According to official announcements, Season 3, titled “Bananya: Traveling the Globe,” will debut in October 2024. You can catch all the episodes on Crunchyroll as this series prepares for a worldwide release.
The Japanese anime series “Bananya” was born in the creative minds of Gathering animation studio, premiering its first season from July 2016 to September 2016, and the second season from October 2019 to December 2019. Recently, a sneak peek and artwork showcasing Bananya alongside two fresh characters have been revealed by the studio.
In the opening scene, a radiant orb of light materializes before Bananya, from which a fresh feline named Baby Sweet emerges. Instantaneously, they form an alliance. They embark on a thrilling journey to explore captivating locales, but are trailed by a puzzling, gloomy gray cat. The trio is showcased in the newest artwork.
As of now, there’s been no specified release date for the series. Yuki Kaji lends his voice to Bananya, while Ayumu Murase voices Baby Sweet. Both voice actors expressed their gratitude on their respective social media accounts about being part of this project. Director Kyo Yatate and scriptwriter Masahiro Takata are rejoining the team for the series as well.
Screenwriter Sei Yoshitsuki is now part of our team. TMS Entertainment Studio 6 and Lesprit are set to produce the series. The show will be available for streaming on The Crunch not only in North America, but also in selected other regions. In the Season 2 finale, Bananya finally achieves its goal of being entirely coated in chocolate.
The series production was made possible through a crowdfunding effort. Bananya has become more than just a meme sensation, as the weeping banana cat is a spin-off of the original character. We’re eagerly anticipating the return of Bananya and can’t wait to see what fresh escapades are in store! Keep an eye out for the latest news on Bananya!
