This article contains major spoilers from the My Hero Academia manga and anime.
In Season 7 of My Hero Academia, there were several unexpected and emotionally intense moments, including a near-death experience for Katsuki Bakugo, much to the relief of fans of Kacchan. While Dynamight suffered fatal injuries, he didn’t actually die, although he came extremely close.
In the final arc of My Hero Academia’s seventh season, during episode 11, Shigaraki inflicted severe injuries on a character, tearing his heart apart with a powerful strike to the chest. This grim event left everyone present, both heroes and viewers, stunned as the boy ceased to breathe for several minutes, effectively rendering him dead temporarily.
In the heartfelt Episode 149 of My Hero Academia, the temporary disappearance of Bakugo left a profound mark on me, as I’ve always admired him for his unyielding determination and fierce ambition. His fiery spirit has consistently triumphed against odds, making this moment exceptionally poignant.
Even though he suffered a grave wound, his indomitable spirit never wavered. Although Bakugo’s demise hasn’t been reversed in the My Hero Academia anime yet, Pro Hero Edgeshot ensured that it wasn’t final.
In Episode 150 of My Hero Academia, Edgeshot utilizes his Foldabody Quirk selflessly to rescue Bakugo. By controlling the flexibility of his body, Edgeshot performs a heroic act by effectively replacing his own body as a temporary heart for Bakugo, mending the torn organs within him.
Through this unselfish deed, Bakugo is brought back to life, enabling him to carry on his fight against the destructive elements plaguing society. Meanwhile, during the operation, Shigaraki and Deku’s confrontation unfolded, culminating in All Might finding himself in a critical state.
With barely a moment regained from unconsciousness, Bakugo is set to leap back into action and rescue the once top-ranked Hero. Despite the temporary sorrow fans felt due to Bakugo’s brief passing, his resurrection will underscore the fundamental theme of the series: true heroism persists, even when faced with insurmountable hardship.
The Epilogue’s storyline further verifies this, as Bakugo persists in his heroic quest under the title ‘Mighty Explosion: The Murderous God of Dynamight’, even with his injured physique.
