
Four decades since its initial release, “Back to the Future” remains a beloved favorite. From theme park rides, a stage play, and an authentic missing-music enigma, devotees keep the charm of this iconic time-travel movie alive.
Starting from Halloween (October 31), you’ll have another chance to watch Robert Zemeckis’ film on the cinema screen! This time around, it’s coming back with a special touch, being shown in high-end formats such as Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-Box, and IMAX.
In a recent press statement, Universal Pictures described this as a unique occasion, stating that “For the very first time, Back to the Future will be shown on the biggest movie screens globally. This allows fans to immerse themselves in the film’s grandeur and excitement like never before.
To celebrate this special milestone, the studio unveiled a 40th-anniversary teaser, offering fans an exclusive sneak peek into the celebrations.

The theatrical release begins on Halloween, October 31st, and you can purchase tickets for nearby cinemas in advance. Additionally, IMAX showings are planned; further information can be found on Universal’s official website.

Alongside the theater re-release, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is preparing and releasing special 40th anniversary versions starting on October 14, before October 21, which is recognized by fans as Back to the Future Day – a tribute to the date mentioned in Back to the Future Part II.
The star attraction is the “40th Anniversary Limited Edition Gift Set” of the “Back to the Future Trilogy”. As stated by Universal, this $150 collection contains each film in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital formats, along with a SteelBook Flux Capacitor, an exclusive miniature Gibson Guitar replica, an OUTATIME metal license plate, a booklet titled “Back to the Future: A Visual History”, and various replica items from the studio’s archive.

For people seeking a compact option, single Steelbook editions for each movie are also up for grabs. Additionally, diehard fans can purchase the entire trilogy in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital versions. Pre-orders are currently being accepted for these anniversary releases.
Fans of “Back to the Future” can commemorate the film’s 40-year milestone this autumn in various ways, such as through its theatrical re-release and limited edition versions.
