Devin Strater has spoken out following news headlines about his past arrests. On Thursday, September 19th, the winner of The Bachelorette Season 21 posted on Instagram to clarify reports that he had been arrested for allegedly breaking into an ex-girlfriend’s home and violating a temporary restraining order she had obtained against him. In a detailed Instagram post, Strater declared the accusations false and expressed remorse over causing harm to Jenn Tran, his fiancée from the reality show, whom he split up with shortly after getting engaged.

After appearing on The Bachelorette, there have been numerous stories and inaccuracies published about me that I feel compelled to clarify, he started off, acknowledging his appreciation for his time on ABC’s dating reality show and for having known Tran. Prior to discussing the disputed aspects of his history, he expressed remorse for causing Tran any pain, referring to her as a “remarkable individual,” who he hopes experiences only happiness and success.

Recently, I’ve faced some difficult moments from my past that have been misunderstood and exaggerated to a significant extent. Let me clarify that the allegations against me are baseless; I’ve never crossed any boundaries by inappropriately touching another person or treating my former partner unkindly as portrayed in these depictions.

As for the reported restraining order against me, I want to clarify that it has been completely dismissed. You see, my college girlfriend and I reconciled before parting ways amicably. This relationship, which has been making headlines in celebrity news and gossip magazines, was actually my first taste of love. I can honestly say that I learned a great deal from this experience, and it served as a growth period for both me and my former partner.

Following a comprehensive review of the allegations against Strader, there was partial verification of his recent explanation. As mentioned in an editor’s note from one of their reports, a judge issued a temporary restraining order against Strader in March 2017, which was later extended for another month. However, a permanent restraining order was not granted because his ex-girlfriend withdrew the request voluntarily.

Strader ended his Instagram post by admitting his imperfections in life and understanding that he’s not flawless. He shared that he consistently strives for personal growth, aiming to become a person whom those around him can take pride in.

He added a thank you note for everyone who has been by his side toward the end of his explanation.

Based on the police report submitted anonymously, Strader is alleged to have started a fire on the same street where the complainant resides. It seems that he may have been burning a copy of the restraining order, which he repeatedly violated.

According to PEOPLE, Strader was given a criminal trespass misdemeanor charge, requiring him to pay $500 and perform 30 hours of community service. Additionally, he was instructed to participate in the Court’s Effective Decision-Making School.
